What if I already have a SMETS1 smart meter?
If you already have a SMETS1 smart meter, there’s good news—Octopus Energy can still work with it! SMETS1 meters are the first generation of smart meters, and while they sometimes lose their smart functionality when switching suppliers, Octopus Energy is actively upgrading these meters to connect with the national smart meter network (DCC). This process, known as "enrollment and adoption," allows SMETS1 meters to regain their smart features, enabling automatic meter readings and access to Octopus's full range of innovative tariffs.
What about smart prepayment meters?
Octopus supports prepaid meters but it's better to book an appointment for an engineer to install them.
